I am signed up for Muskoka 70.3 on Sunday. Two days ago I noticed I had a pain on the bottom of my foot near my heel that felt like more than regular muscle recovery. When jumping up an down on my toes I feel a small pain in the back of the plantar fascia.
I googled, and spoke with family doctor on the phone and realized I am experiencing plantar fasciitis. I am planning on trying to get into a sports clinic tomorrow for an opinion on whether I should race or not. I am planning on rolling my foot, calf, and hip flexor with a lacrosse ball along with rest and evaluating on race day.
This is the first time I have experienced PF. Has anyone experienced this and how did you deal with it?
