OpenTri Long Distance Traning Plan - Questions
Quote | Reply
I'd like to follow the free OpenTri 36-week plan.

http://opentri-training.com/free/ultra/index.htm

Who executed the plan successfully and can give me some advice?
I already contacted Mike Llerandi with a couple of questions but I haven't recieved a response yet.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Dan,

I'd be happy to answer your questions either here or offline...I don't recall seeing an email, so feel free to write me at info@opentri.com -- cheers.

Well, I guess you'll get specifics from Mike. He provided great feedback when I used the plan for LP 08 & 09.

Mike's a fish so there's lots of swimming (and great sets). Follow it and your swim will improve. Mine did.
There are some long trainer sessions in there which perhaps I'd alter given my experience gained over the years.
Great mix of run "speed work" and "bike sandwiches" (R/B/R) in lieu of long runs to improve your IM run.

All in all, I think the plan is great.

Of course, it can/should be modified to suit your fitness and personal life but in a day (back then and now) when many are looking to make a buck off plans and "coaching", Mike continues to offer something (a lot) for nothing.

Good luck.
