Hey, I never said that they can't be nice - I just advise against dating them, unless you want to be seriously exasperated. The running joke was that they were generally neurotic as all get-out, and would suddenly decide that they hated me and couldn't talk to me anymore (or even correspond by email), but wouldn't tell me what I'd said or done wrong.

I know that this doesn't sound all that funny, but when it started happening so regularly that I could predict it right from when I first found out that my correspondent was a social worker, it actually did start getting pretty entertaining. I swear I wasn't pissing them off on purpose.

I find that the fact that they are supposed to be coaching people on how to live normal, well-adjusted lives adds a wonderful touch of comic irony to the whole situation.

So yeah, social workers aren't my type. Left-handed scientists, however . . . wow. Great times. Even though (or perhaps especially because) left-handed women are trouble.

I am new to the whole pc dating thing..kinda find it funny, but a hell of a lot easier than figuring out how to meet people that are not hanging out in bars and clubs every weekend. I've met two very intelligent and attractive women and am patiently waiting to see what happens next.

By the way, as far as descriptions go (going back to the beginning of this thread) all three of us look exactly like our pictures. I haven't gotten out a tape measure but the women look remarkably close to the size advertised!

There is hope! I have just met someone really cool after I had been single for a year.

When my last relationship ended I felt like I was starting an open water swim and had just been chucked off of a boat in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. I had been on the dry land of relationships for a long time. I just wanted to get to a boat or shore right away. But like any good open water swim, the feelings of being cold and alone in the abyss quickly passed once you start moving. By the end of the year I really felt OK about being single. And what do you know, I met someone cool.

So, my advice to you is enjoy the time you are single as much as possible and don't worry too much about it, because the shore is closer than you think if you just focus enjoying the scenery and your stroke. Ok that sounded wrong, but you get my point, I hope.

I'm 0 for 36 with sending out emails on match.com and getting positive responses. I'm about to try xraycharlie's desperate mass email attempt.
