I wanted to, but conflicts with the road racing series. Good luck!

Yeah, I liked last year's race...not sure why they shortened it. I doubt that the Oregonia Beast will be on the bike route since its so short.

Hey, if you and some Cincy tri-peeps want, we could start from my house on Saturday...family is in NC visiting Grandma. Maybe do 30 or so and then a short brick?

spot--are you thinking on the 22nd?

I'd like to ride longer than 30...or, i can ride 30 (hopefully with) you guys and continue on myself, that could work.

have been itching to get out there, so i like the idea!!! maybe we could drag Erik Clark out :)

Actually, I was thinking this weekend if anybody is up for it. Just me and the dog, so may as well get some good training in.

i would like to go for 40 or 50 (or the great buckeye route?). please know though, i'm just getting back on my bike, so I'm aiming to get in about 150-170 miles for the week...will be up to about 90 after tomorrow.

i can do about a 16-19 pace, with some low 20's here and there. is this ok with you?

I can be at the beach around 10:30 or 11am. if that's too late, let me know....

Can't do it, I have Olentangy du on the 30th, and duathlon nationals in Mason the week after. Can't race 3 weeks in a row.

Hey spot, the Midwest Flyers team (road racing squad) is planning on riding up there on the 15th (Spring Valley) to recon the course for next weekend (2 day road racing event). Check out www.midwestflyers.org in the forum section if you want some more company. We "probably" won't go too hard, but a few of them may frown on tri bikes around. Easy rides in that pack are about 20-24 mph on the flats with sprints and surges for training and definitely eschelons/pacelines for practice (hence no tri bike). The race director is sending the route over so I don't know exactly where, but there are loads of great roads up there to ride.

I can put together a 40-50 mile ride easier from my house than from Caesar Creek Lake...I know some of the roads out there, but not all of them. But its doable if its easier for you guys to meet there instead...I suppose if we did a few miles up 48 towards Xenia, and then west a bit, we could end up with a decent loop that would be about right. I guess it really doesn't matter.

Road bike it is...

20 mph I can hang with on the flats and take some pulls fairly easily...24 mph....well, I could probably draft that fast! :) Sounds a little quick for me.

it's quick for me, i would have to have virtually no hills to keep up 24 and i would have to draft in a paceline, with no pulls.

gosh, i read that and it sounds pathetic! lol...

spot, these guys will be on a by-week, because of Easter. if they were racing on the 16th, i'd be more positive about being able to stay with them. but, just knowing these guys, if you give them a sunny day with no race the next day, all of a sudden they turn into fire breathing dragons and gangster bad asses.

roof's famous last words are: "i went a little harder today than i thought i would. we were hammering over 50 miles...".

lol!

Yeah, I doubt I could hang with them, plus my pack riding skills are pretty rusty. 40 is as far as I've gone this year so far, so hammering for 40-50 miles doesn't sound real appetizing....

Yeah, I think if we initially head west on 73, then up towards Xenia on 48, back down 48 to Waynesville, we can then take some fairly quiet roads back towards Springboro, go south to Lower Springboro, and then back east to Corwin road, south for a bit and some good hills, and then back to the lake, we can get in 40-50 fairly easily.
