WTF...Maik just blew past Starky on the climb to Hawi.//

Well he is one of the guys dan has fit personally, so not surprised about Matts comments on how good he looks on the bike. And being a normal year this year( windy), his position is going to suit him even better..

I was going to say that. Wolfgang or Pigg. Not sure which guy started it, but started using it back in 1990! We need to check the United States Patent office to see whose name is on the patent!

Back when Softride was THE beam bike I remember reading something that they were faster than "traditional" aero frames when using a disc but no different with open rear wheels. Anyone know if this is still the case or do they pretty much test similar with the rest of the superbikes nowadays?

Attention Matt Lieto:

Steer clear of Starky...after he hears how critical you have been for the last three hours, chances are he is going to beat you with a bike pump.

hoping Sr. M, and Ms. Harriet make the cut off.

your sister is out! 1:41 on the swim!

Ohhh a bit slow for her.... Must be a bit rough out there. She's more focused for the bike and run. She's been conservative on the bike in the past and then knocks out a 4 hour marathon - fastest in AG in the past. I've tried to get her to push the bike a bit better - catch Missy, then chill. She'll likely outrun the rest of her division.

That guy is absolutely killing me. When they were all talking about who would have the best run, he slammed the Lovato and Welchie, saying that what matters is today, not what happened in Kona previously. Then he proceeds to talk up his favorite using....historical results. What a douche.

It was Michael Lovato.

Why is Kienle not on Irwin 85s? They are more aero than 808s.

A good 13 minutes slower to Hawi (in total race time) compared to last year.

Colom out in 1:00:51, Backstedt out in 1:16 - see who gets the best bike split

Welchy was saying winds 25 mph out of the NE at 9 am this morning. Should be some solid wind gust from the right side of the road every time the athletes come out of the shelter of the lava and the road is exposed going up to Hawi. On the plus side, if it stays North East, in theory they get a tail wind coming back

something is going on (bad) with Colom.

James Burke out front of 35-39 at 44 miles.

Seems like Sebastian and Maik put a small gap into Starky, as judged by the distance from the turn-around

Take a short break from ST and read my blog:
