How much time do you think the womens need over Rinny to keep her out of the mix? She's already 6 min back. 10 minutes makes it close (on paper). 15 minutes might put her out of consideration.

Why did they get rid of a perfectly fine athlete tracker for a 'leaderboard' that puts athletes in random order within their category?

If you click on the header that says RACE TIME, it'll sort by 1st >> last.

I have followed a race earlier this year using GPS. It worked. Updates every 2 minutes, and this was on a course in remote areas.
Should be something for a world championship

I think Starky's going to do his best to put himself in the mix for a win. He came out of the water with the front group. He pounds the bike. The other athletes have to decide how much they're willing to let him go.

Odds are that the rest of the runners in the pack aren't too concerned about Starky's gap. They learned that last year. But, Starky's run has improved. If they let him go, it might be a great strategy for him.

I agree that he's not just focused on a bike course record. But I think his strategy to win overall is to try and crack as many people as he can. In other words, he hopes they do try to come with him, and then blow up. Because if someone like Frodo doesn't try too hard to chase, he can easily make up 15 minutes on Starky on the run.

Starky's playing the "go big or go home" card, and I love it.

Not only that, but it also has major trouble even pulling athletes up by name or bib #, and then doesn't save your favorites on the off chance that you can actually get their name to pull up.

Stay classy, WTC.

And right now, he's only got 1/2 a minute on Frodo. That's not going to cut it, assuming Jan isn't pushing himself too much to keep up.

Welchy was saying winds 25 mph out of the NE at 9 am this morning. Should be some solid wind gust from the right side of the road every time the athletes come out of the shelter of the lava and the road is exposed going up to Hawi. On the plus side, if it stays North East, in theory they get a tail wind coming back
