Good point on the gap on the 2nd group. The lead group seems larger this year, which may make the 2nd group suffer a lot more.

Man, Frodeno is smoking it. Hope he can sustain that pace for 112 miles.

SO frodo and jacobs with potts hanging onto the early train, man they are not going to make it easy for the chase group. I expect starky to be up here soon too, he will supercharge this group..

Potts was kicked out the back very quickly. I think by mile 25 he is not even in the top 5. Just wait to some other of the bikers get up to the front.

Yeah, crazy big jump out of the gate!
Lead women coming in now - looks like a much smaller group - 3 women?

That's the norm, IIRC. Same with the boys in most years. The swimming strength of the mens race looks to have improved. The ladies seem to be more spread out.

I'm going surfing. When I get back the leaders will be just starting to run!

Yes true. Raelert had a bad swim by his standards and pulled the plug after the bike.

OK now we get to see if the bike records get broken in both the men's and woman's race. Here we go!

Wrong. If you saw the live coverage last year you'd know this. He joined the broadcast team for the first part of the race.

Anybody else think that an 84 cadence is considered low?

Umm...you both are talking about different people. Potts vs Raelert.

That is what I race around. I am always between 75 and 85 and it just works for me. Normally 80-85

Frodo's wearing a one piece suit with sleeves...which means he changed completely in transition and still came out with Potts? That's nut.

Starky's in the lead; why is the cameraman still glued to Frodo?
Does anybody have pics of Frodo's bike?
