Looks like Kienle is starting to labor a bit, to my untrained eye.

I think Dev called it right re: an fast early pace.

Show the women's race. Much more interesting than Kienle cruising it in.

From the IM Blog:

We caught up with defending champion Mirinda Carfrae earlier this week. As she starts the marathon well back, you can be sure we'll watch her run through this field like a pac man.

Man, what happened to the primes? From $10k to $1500. Like an intermediate sprint point in the TDF now. I guess Timex watch sales fell off…Frodo now 9th, but just running ok. HE will need to pick it up while others in front implode. Unlucky for him that the only ones running faster are the 3 or 4 in front of him right now.

Ryf's running form isn't exactly like watching Rinny

People used to complain about watching Chrissie's run form too. Yet, Chrissie was every bit as fast as Rinnie. I'd be curious to see how Daniela's splits hold up.

Nope, just in general....upper body seems to be getting a bit stiff.

Was thinking the same thing. Cant believe they cant atleast have $5k in primes? $1500 is kinda almost embarrassing, more along the lines of doing just enough to have a prime.

Well to be fair, no one is as pretty to watch, man or woman than Rinny. But she is running strong right now, don't need to be pretty when you have a 14 minute lead. More often than not, ironman is won ugly..

Tracker shows her (Rinny) running 3:45 km's.....fast!! Estimates her being 3 minutes off the win, but still a long ways to run, she could definitely still win!

Looks like potts, ralert, and frodo have marino and maik in their sights now. Just a matter of time and it is going to be;

Keinle
Freddy
Hoffman
Potts
Ralert
Frodo

That is the race for the podium right there. And all are running better than anyone from behind. Gonna be some tough places fought out amongst those dudes.

It looks like it, but what do I know. I do know that Rinny is going to lay it all on the line, and Ryf and Joyce know that.

And people like to complain about the WTC giving away slots to celebs. 1:00:28 swim and 5:10 bike is right up there with the top level athletes in his AG that qualified. His free slot so far is very much deserved. Good on him.

DQ for Ryf? Don't the WTC rules require men & women's torso to be completely covered?
