Arm warmers: I'm bringing them, whether or not I wear them will be a game time decision, depending on the sun or lack thereof

Toe covers: Yup, I've got terrible circulation in my feet and would be wearing them anyway

Run gear drop off tonight or in the morning: Dropping off tonight, no real rain in the forecast. Plus I don't want to park downtown tomorrow, I'd rather head straight for the harbor.

Probably going to wear a long sleeve top over a tri top for the bike. Since I'm already back home, dropping shoes off in the morning.

Yeah, I am looking at probably throwing a jersey on and warmers in the am. first time I've done that.....

Someone mentioned on the other board that they had to make adjustments to the run course and we run up and down the ramp 4 times (for a total of 8) instead of the 2 times up and 2 times down (for total of 4)? Anyone confirm? I can't make sense of how we'd do it 8 times total and am thinking they misunderstood.... At any rate with a 7:39 start I'll have plenty of folks to follow

Good luck tomorrow. Should be a great race!

I going arm warmers and tri suit, no toe covers (but I thought about it for a minute) and dropping run gear in the morning because we have assigned spots.

Checked in around 1pm - pretty awesome since there were no lines anywhere. Smooth check-in, and T2 is right by the community center which was a pleasant surprise - no need to do additional driving to drop stuff off at T2.

T2 is a bit awkward, not your typical straight rectangle. I'm on one of the racks right by the entrance which is nice. (Dropped my stuff off after checking in).

Still planning on putting a jersey on in T1. No arm warmers or toe covers.

T2 is very awkward. Looks like lots of running on concrete, wether that be in bare feet or bike shoes. I'm all the way in the back.

What does everyone think, arm warmers or bike jersey over the tri top?

Toe covers?

Run gear drop off tonight or in the morning?

I'm going with bike jersey and toe covers. I put my run gear in T2 today. I want to see how people are going to ride with 2 bags in the morning.
Anyway good luck.

Sweet temps out. 55 at my house, 15 minutes from the harbor. I'm headed out in 30 minutes.

Good luck to all today, have a great race or a great time.

Great f-n day to race.

I'll post a race report later. But here's the highlights: PR'd the course, PR'd the distance and met/took a picture with Andy Potts afterwards.

Huge day for me, 22 minute PR for HIM, 44 minute PR for Oceanside, and all of that time was on the bike and run. It was a great day to race, although my bike is a sticky muddy mess. Water temp was 58, splashed some on my face right when the prior wave went and it wasn't bad at all. Bike was a bit rainy. Run was funky but my ADD brain liked being able to break it into chunks. Concrete still hurt tho

I pr'd by 48 minutes on the course as well. The weather was good except for the wet roads. Bike is also a mess. Water wasn't bad except for the swells. All in all a great day.

Great time you put down today.

But what's up with the posted run splits? Half are faster than I was going and half are slower

Screw all you PR people! Ha, ha. I posted one of my slowest times ever for O'side- 5:54:16, mainly due to not being very bike-fit and flatting at mile 40 which cost me about 12-14 minutes. Got the first replacement tube on the tire and it had a leak in the valve stem, so luckily tech support showed up and put a second replacement in, but that all cost me time. Swam 33 minutes (about normal for me), ran a 1:50:31 (average, but not even close to a PR) and biked...well, let's just say it's laughable...3:21:58. Arrgggg! Had a blast though. Left and went straight to my daughter's play all stinky and sweaty and then had a triple cheeseburger and fries for dinner. Now, time to clean all the gear....
Congrats to everyone who had a great day out there today.

P.S. Good meeting a couple more STers today!

This was my first Oceanside and I thought it was awesome. Riding through Camp Pendleton was excellent, especially when we got off the bike path and onto the roads. Run course was a bit narrow in places but overall I had great fun and plan to be back.
