2.6 gigs of space, and if you have a string of emails back-and-forth with someone (or lots of someones), gmail keeps all of the emails together.

and once they are done beta testing, will current accounts still exist - or is this all just an experiment?

Is it perfect? No. But it is vastly superior to the account I last had in college, and friends of mine keep switching from yahoo and msn to gmail, so that that for what it's worth.

I can't imagine Google getting rid of the accounts. They're a public company, and the public fallout would be enormous.

2.6GB is sweet. I keep a lot of pics there so I can access them anywhere.

What's so good? Heaps of space... and they don't keep sending "Your mailbox is over it's size limit" messages like I've been getting on my work email account three times per day since a month after I started. (Yes, I have them on auto-delete)

I also like how messages are stored in a string, so it's easier to follow the conversation and to file.

You can also easily search for old messages by keyword and author.

If you download this shell, you can use it like a drive which will be in your "my computer." You can then "drag and drop" from and to your gmail drive as if it was a virtual HD. Great backup alternative.

I like to use it as a portable hard drive. I write a draft, attach the file I want to save and save the draft. That way, no matter where I am or what computer I am using I can access important files.

I love the google search of your own email - I can find something in a second. Best email around - period.

It is worth about 400 USD per year if you have much e-mail correspondence. Why?

The spam filter is brilliant and the storage space as well. That means you never have to delete a mail. Not having to play the "spam and unimportant mails filter" yourself saves you approximately 30 minutes per month. Add to that a monthly search in all your mail folders of about 10 minutes for a mail you apparantly deleted anyway, totals 30 minutes per month.

Use these 40 minutes to add to your bike training, doing a quality workout. After a year this will make you approximately 15 seconds on a triathlon.

From another thread on ST we know that this is the average time gain of a full aerobar.

For a full aerobar you can count on about 400 USD.

PS: the easier way to save those 400 bucks is to stop hanging around on ST, but then you are uninformed about how much you would save.
