Interesting, but not justification for an ugly down tube. It is obviously possible to accomplish all of those things without such an odd shape.

BL thickness would be somewhere on the order of millimeters. That is *not* why the TE of the down tube looks stupid, or why it is more crooked than the cops that beat up Rodney King.

The BL *is* only millimeters, but you also need space for the air coming from the front that gets forced through the gap above the tire to escape. The original design images that Graeme drew that that gap too small.

Personally I don't mind the DT at all. Fast is fast, and nothing else matters...unless it makes you crash.

^^^This^^^ x1000

I rode the carbon Power-V when they first came out ('93), and then the aluminum PowerWing (first the hideous neon yellow, then the cobalt blue). Never should have sold that last one.
Oh, how I miss the comfort of those bikes, especially as I get older!
Cheers,

While not as sexy looking as that, titanflex is still around building bikes. If you regret it that much, try a titanflex.

I just got one a few months ago, biggest problem making mine a slow bike is the guy on top of it.

God knows I am all for the small guy. God knows even better that I am a beam bike fan boy....but god also knows that at that price with out some serious wind tunnel backing that it will be a spark on a windy night.

Ouch. That's too much.

I just got a Shiv with SRAM Red for $4,500.

Can the maker do what all the other big names do: partner up with a carbon factory in Asia and have them make the frame? They KNOW how to weave carbon fiber. Paint it and assemble complete bikes here in the US. Then you'd have a frameset cost of around $3K and a complete bike around $4500, and you'd be able to sell many many thousands of them and make a lot of money on volume. Hell I'd buy one just because it's so cool.

Had a talk to Graeme: This is the mocked up STANDARD version of the Z1-ELEVEN. Fork will be very aero, full carbon, similar to this and will take conventional handlebar stem and front brake, and conventional groupsets or Di2/EPS. Cost will be 3200 USD for the frameset.

From what Graeme has told me these frames are very intricate and very hard to make, a frameset can take Graeme over too weeks to make! nearly every part of the frame is hand made you are paying for craftsmanship, speed and art haha and you won't have thousands of people riding around on the same bike as you! they will be very rare.

How many grams for the frame and fork?
What bottom bracket does it use?
Front or rear water bottle holder only?
Has this frame been wind tunnel tested?

Here is a photo of the frame and front end. In the early stages. The front brake is housed inside the fearings that go over the front wheel.

I have one of Graeme's earlier versions that he and I call the GC-1 Concept. I bought it from Graeme in 2009, and I have ridden it in 11 IM's without a single problem.
I can speak of the quality and design that Graeme puts into his frames.
Check about my FB page (Christian Wendenburg) for many pictures, and the many color and graphics changes I have made over the years.
In fact, my GC-1 Concept is what I;m riding for IM NYC in 8 weeks.
I will try to attach a photo of it in this post (if I can get it to work).

Here is my GC-1 Concept in last year's white color. FYI: last year, I called it the NZ-1. But, earlier this year I designed and made a few modification to the frame (front derailleur mount, and beam hump cable input area). So, the frame's name got changed to GC-1 Concept.
Still, I fully believe in and support Graeme's design and build.
Like I said, I have 11 IM races on this bike, and not a single problem ever.
