March Madness in Cary, IL

Who's in? First time running it myself and I've heard its a tough course with a lot of very fast runners using it as preparation for Boston.

Any tips?

Got a bib but can't race due to injury. I've run Cary a number of times and my advice is this: take the first half out moderate - hard to do since the first mile and a half is downhill - and don't think that the hardest part is over when you crest the hill at mile 9. There are some short, steep hills in the neighborhoods after that - best save some gas for the last 4 miles. Best of luck Sunday!

TiDriver is correct, I've done this race many times as well. The first six miles are gradually taking you down hill and so you might feel like your having a great day, be cautious! You'll start climbing your way back beginning at mile 8, the hills that come 10 - 12 are the ones that will wear you down.
