Looking for a Pool in Downtown Melbourne
To those in the Know -

I am looking for a pool in downtown Melbourne to swim laps. Per Google Maps - it seems the closest pools are the North Melbourne Pool and the Fitzroy Pool. Are these good options ? Are there other ones I should check out.

Thanks.

When I was there for business then I went out to the Melbourne Vic Centre. Several pools there including 2 x 50m. I went out there on a night, and whilst it was busy with squads then I still got space. You can catch the tram (it is just one stop outside the free area - was a pain) so I ended up running there and back as a mini brick.

I used to travel to Melbourne for business a lot.

I chose hotels with 25m pools.

Crown Metropol on the river has indoor 25m.

Four Points Docklands is further out, has an outdoor 25m

I used to live in Melbourne..Left in 1985 for Cairns and have never been back..I have to ride through Melbourne as part of the IndiPac route next year and am not looking forward to it. :-)

Don't know if it still exists but I did used to swim in the City Baths in Swanston St.

Still there

The baths are hot water. 29-31 degrees. Trying to get heart rate up is not fun plus it is more of a chill pool

I hear that they play something called “a” “f” “l” there

I live in Melbourne and generally train at Richmond rec Center. Great in the morning, no lane space in the afternoon. Fitzroy is super busy in summer.

Other central options:
- Prahran aquatic (I do afternoons here in the summer)
- MSAC at Albert park.
