Hey.....he's not doing ST approved stuff.....478W for 16 minutes with a wimpy fan from the side. He should have been F404 Turbofan engines off an F-18 to dissipate the ~2000W of heat he is putting into the room. And on the treadmill, running with a speedo? That's so 80's. I thought only Faris is allowed to get away with that, or are you allowed to run in a speedo if you break the Mdot 140.6 record time? No one can argue with Faris cause he won Kona. What's the ST protocol here?

At least we know who's stealing all the KOMs on Zwift.

Also: if he's staring at a wall for his run, why not also Zwift?

Badass! Looks like he has a punchy swimming style to me. Some other pros may not be too happy to hear he's making significant gains on his swimming.

2:30 200's for scm with rest sounds like a 25 min or so half Ironman 1900m swim?

That dude killed FOUR treadmills - and I think he just got that model a year ago!!

He talks about his 7-year warrantee at 6:24. You'd think the Proform folks would just give him his money back at this point - that's gotta be a record of treadmill kills for such a short period of time!

I still find it literally hilarious and completely awesome that this dude trains in a room smaller than my home office with a fan that looks like it wouldn't even cool jack squat.

Great stuff. Invisible man in the pool, we need to see a coaches vantange. But heck he's killin' it. Fast as my 12 year old son, which is really good. My son is on the podium regionally.

Running omg I was going to post about that. This 4 min/km "nothing crazy" idk if I can even sprint that fast.

A 4 minute km is just a little faster than a 6:30 mile. It's not that fast.

Only a type-A triathlete (read: non-swimmer) would do 200's on 2:55 and not 3:00 and know their average to the tenth! But I suppose when you're a pro, those tenths matter-even in an IM/HIM swim.

I thought the same, but probably the person doing the video on the deck timed them with the hand stop watch. As for doing then on 2:55, well if you follow the yellow arrow on the clock on the top, you leave 5 second before the top on the next one and so on....and since you arrive at 2:30, it is symmetrically 180 degrees away when you finish....and you leave 180 degrees symmetrically from arrival time minus 5 seconds/30 degrees. So it's easy for his arrrival time from a visualization perspective.

Yup this makes sense to me. Its the reason I have a hard time adjusting my leaving interval from 1:35....its so easy to follow on the clock. (also bringing it down means working harder)

2.55 is MUCH easier for counting intervals compared to 3.00 :)

or 3:05....any departure interval where the departure "time" grows or shrinks relative to 12 O'clock is easier to count the number you did!

That's what I was wondering....how do you generate ~2000W for 16ish minutes and don't implode like a Fukushima reactor?

how do you outperform tour riders when you are not nearly as emaciated as they are when they do it?

mental toughness? I don't know the answer but I'd love to have the power to tt at 34mph for a 20k

It was 16 minutes total not continuous and Lionel does has a small fan albeit a hell of a lot less cooling than I use with my meager power output.
