Lance's local legacy

I live in lazy town USA, and I mean no one ventures outdoors unless they are shopping, getting groceries or renting a DVD, well 5, so they can stay in all weekend. Call it what you will, but there are suddenly bikers all over town. Moms and Grandmoms with helmets, actually biking. I see it as strange, as they are 1980 schwinn travelers and hardware store 10 speeds. So they decided to inflate the tires and get out. I'm usually the only guy on the road and ran into several families and two guys racing the other way. The Saturday morning coffee run (you can't go over 10mph on this ride) is loaded with riders now. Our LBS may even stay in business for more than 2 years. Out of all these rider a few racers and triathletes will emerge and hopefully the bike shop will do better and the video shop will be less busy.

the best is when I ride by a group of people and one starts shouting "Go, Lance, GO!"...Kinda motivating in a weird way!
