Knee Replacement and Competitive Cycling?
Anyone here know of someone who had total or partial knee replacement and was able to resume competitive cycling? Which could be competitive road, mtn biking, track, tri or cx as well. I know there are a few cases, and I am interested to talk to these people.

Thanks

I did a bike tour a few years ago with a guy who had two replacement knees less than a year old. This wasn't competition, but we did do 8,000 feet of vertical one day, which seems like a pretty good test. He was 60. I was impressed.

I know a guy who has had both knees done. A total in one and a partial in the other. He is in his early 40's. Doesn't seem to hold him back. Last year he did several races.

Ok so he is in my age group or very close. What level does he race at? Next time you see/speak to him could you ask how his power compares with previous power pre injury?

Bumping this. Did you get any more information?

Looking at surgery options and have written this year's racing off.

I raced with a guy on the track who has had both of his done and he's been world champion post-surgery, 70-74 yo AG.
