Ironman 70.3 Norway / US $ - norwegian kroner
Quote | Reply

July 3rd 2016 will be the 5th edition of Ironman 70.3 Norway in Haugesund Norway. The race is very highly ranked by the athletes and we work hard to improve each year.
If you have any thoughts of racing in Norway 2016 now is a very good time to do so.
Norwegian kroner has lost about 40% of its value towards US $ lately and that makes it the cheapest ever to visit Norway.
Normally 1 US $ is about 6-6.5 NOK , now it is 8.60 NOK.
Hope to see you in Norway 2016.

Best regards

Ivar Jacobsen / race manager

I would absolutely love to race in Norway! After falling in love with Norseman over the last few years (one day I'll race it!) and then reading the article with Allan Hovda the other day where he discusses Haugsund and Lofoten, it really enticed me to want to race there. If only I had money...doesn't matter how good the conversion rate is, I still can't afford it!

I think you posted somewhere else on the possible travel routes to get there. Could you copy and paste that into this thread?

most flights via oslo to Haugesund. That is the easiest. Our airport is just 15 minutes out of town.

SAS also has a flight copenhagen-haugesund, but that 50 seater plain just allows 4 bike boxes on each flight. So if you are on a tight schedule dont use that one. But we have managed to get all bike boxes within 12-24 hours after the flight arrives, via stavanger or oslo.

Stavanger airport is 2,5 hours drive from haugesund and there are buses , Bergen airport is 3 hours drive from Haugesund.

IcelandAir also fly to Bergen and Stavenger from the USA. They are really nice when it comes to your bike.

Haugesund is a beautiful place and Ivar is famous in Norway for organizing races. He is a master race director.

South West of Norway can offer you everything from base jumping to surfing, fjords, beaches, islands, fishing, etc, etc.

According to Mary Beth Ellis Haugesund 70.3 was the best half even the first year it ran
