Devil's Advocates are great (and refreshing) to have around ... until they start taking themselves too seriously.

Then, the "challenges" become more annoying than wortwhile.

We have enough people around here that "challenge everything". But, I hear TNO is in desperate need of a DA ...

Trust me, I don't take myself seriously and neither should you... but the more serious you are about yourself the greater the chance that I'll challenge something. It's my intention to make waves when I post. Although I might send oneforty.6 and ellwood some ass-kissing posts, hehe!

Hopefully at the very least I'll make you think. Well... some of you... some are incapable ;-)

Although shouldn't your name be Advocato Diabolico? But my spanish was weak in HS and probably not any better now. Until then your still the Advocate's Devil... whatever that is...

The question of who is right and who is wrong has seemed to me always too small to be worth a moment's thought, while the question of what is right and what is wrong has seemed all-important.

Actually I was thinking something like "el advocato de el diablo." Literally "the advocate of the devil." Diablo-Advocado sounds alot like a spicy dish.

Do change that "de el" to "del" and I'll be happy to agree.

according to babelfish, devil's advocate in Italian is fautore del diavolo ... diabolo advocato could sound either Italian-ish or Spanish-ish.
