IMMuskoka 75-79 AG Champ!
He will likely never hear of this thread, but my friend Joe Gati punched his ticket to Kona yesterday with an impressive 15:3x time. This guy is so chill and just lives the active lifestyle consistently year after year... a true role model in that regard. What's even cooler, is that when he goes back to the island next year, it will mark his 30th anniversary, as he last raced there in 1986!

That is an impressive time for that age group. Hope I'm that fast when I'm that age.

How is that lucky? Luck doesn't get anyone a 15:3x IM finish, especially not in the 75-79AG!

I saw him this morning, my parents were there and are in their late 70's. They were shocked….I told my dad he would have to quit smoking if he was considering a run at Kona ;-)

True inspiration,

Maurice

Genetics! My mom at 76 is dying from ALS, so yep, luck has a lot to do with folks being older and healthy.

He looked good all day from the pics I've seen. It'll be interesting to me to see how many others are in that AG in kona next year.. I'll have good reason to follow it closely now, but I have to think his chances are good at a podium are good :)
