Awesome pics Herbert,
Too bad I missed you last year at IMF. Maybe I'll catch you some other race. Too bad you wouldn't be handing me a titanium bottle opener since I don't currently have an ABG bike but who knows. Maybe I will by then. Then again, I don't have a sweet M Coupe either but maybe I'll have one by then too (i wish ;)

Thanks! It's an ugly picture! (ok..it's just me)...

anyway...thanks QR for making small wetsuits...for once I didn't feel like swimming in a michelin wetsuit and managed a relatively decent swim...
First time under 1h (by a bit)...just under 56' actually...

When I had the BOA on I was too busy assisting Wendy Ingraham, Andrea Fisher and Max Ralph to spot the top athletes for Ironmanlive.com. So no pics.

I tried to sell him on the concept of a running skirt (I was wearing mine at the time), but he wasn't buying it... I think it would have looked snazzy with the boa.

Thanks! Hey, I think that is me in the Orca P-flex walking into water in with my 2,000 closest friends :) What a washing machine that was!

I love how the pic of the pro's hauling ass into the swim, while the age groupers just kinda strolling in. Looks like a good time!

Not all of the age groupers strolled in. In front of the people strolling in there is a group of age groupers sprinting in, then dolphining out until they got deep enough to swim. However with the angle of the photo you can't see this because of the age groupers casully walking in obstruct the view.

and somewhere in the middle of the AG swimmers is at least one girl who started to sprint in and was ready to dolphin-dive and was blocked by the wall of people wading in up to their chest. dang. next time will start further up. :)

Self-seeding.

But this does not always work. At IMAZ I was trying to find where to line up and the guy in front of me said "1:10" and the guy behind me said "55". It just caused me to keep looking till I found some consistency among aswers. At IMF my attempts for self-seeding went much better.

Well, I probably actually swim slower. But my coaches have taught us how to "start" a race. And it didn't include walking in that far. So I guess it worked out ok?? Also was surprised how many people friggin' STOP at a turn buoy. just swim and it won't get so congested.

There are over 2000 AG's. You simply can't all hit the water at once.
