It's amazing to see that the Lake temperature dropped from 83F. yesterday to 73.4F. this morning.

And yet our shallow above ground pool takes several days to cool off 10 degrees under those conditions;)

One of my friends said that she didn't bring a wetsuit, and I told her it's the midwest they will always get the temp under the legal limit.

That current in the river is strong. Makes the turns around the first two buoys a little nuts.

That race is great for the sport and totally what those girls deserve.

*Not sure why he said Sara "claims never to have been beat in the sport of triathlon" Hayley Peirsol would argue that.

Yeah I was confused with that.... To say the least this. This swim is tearing the field apart. Interesting how few female international athletes are though

This is really exciting and fun to watch! The cash primes make it great. Looks like I will be watching this all day.

Are you sure about that? Just asking, but I remember at Hy-Vee last year, McLarty beat Peirsol out of the water.

Beijing...

Spirig, Bennett and Norden are going to be exciting on the bike.

Does Sara have to finish to get her primes? I've heard stories of her not even taking her runners to T2 at ITU - I'm thinking $15,000 is quite an incentive to jog 10km. :)

Oh I know Beijing is next weekend, just surprised the male field is much more international I believe. But then again when you only have 5 races outside the us it's not much of a "championship"

I'm more annoyed that they don't have bike video!

You're right - just done a quick search and they didn't cross, I thought Mclarty had done Hamburg when Hayley was there.

I guess we'll never get to know now - she just didn't "love it" enough... :)

Live here now. Contrast a bit dark, but otherwise a good picture.
