I have a road bike, and use vision tech mini's for triathlons. I have clincher carbon bladed spoke wheelset with a thin rim. How much of a difference, if any, are Hed Alps, or a deeper aero rim going to give me on a standard road bike set up. Will it be noticeable on flats?
Also, for those of you who use Hed Alps, do you use them for everyday training?

It depends on your current time/speed for a given course. This gives the rough guide for 40k at a speed of somewhat less than 40k/hour. If you go slower than the speed given, the time advantages given go *up*. If you go faster, then go *down*.
The rough guide there says about 44 seconds for the front wheel and 18 for the rear over 40k. Assuming the wheel they tested there is about equal to an Alps. It's pretty straightforward but time consuming to run a similar comparison at analyticcycling.com.
