I realize that training in the temps you will be racing is important. That being said is it beneficial to train in warmer temps in the afternoons even if you only will be racing in cooler morning weather?

The heat, if it is too hot, will probably just reduce the effectiveness of your workouts.

Yes, as long as you aren't training your "high end" where the heat will start to limit you. If you are doing a standard, sub-max workout, the heat adaptations you'll make will certainly help you in cooler weather.
