Help removing stripped PT battery cover.

I stripped the battery cover for mt Powertap computor. The one you read data off of. Any tips on how to get it off? My battery won't last much longer...

What I did when I did that was drill two holes about as far apart as I could and still have both holes in the battery cover (not close to the outer edge). Then I used a pin spanner to remove the battery cover. Then I filled the holes with silicone glue. The plastic they use for this is way too soft.

I had the same problem and I took it to my LBS. The mechanic was able to get it open (I guess solving annoying problems daily at work like this gave him better skills than I have to improvise in this manner) They even found a cover that would fit and replace the stripped out PT cover. Try your LBS.

Cycleops will send you a new cover (probably for free). Next time, use the thin edge of a cone wrench to open it!
