Help! Embassy Suites Austin Central: Running
Quote | Reply
Hi all,

I'm staying at Embassy suites Austin - Central for business until Friday this week (google maps link below). Anyone have good, safe running route suggestions for me? I do not know the area at all.

Got transportation or do you need suggestions from your hotel? Honestly your hotel isn't in a great place for running... If you have a ride you're like 5 miles from the town lake trail... so like 5 or 50 minutes, depending on when you go :) It's a great place to run...

I have a rental car but need to be back at the hotel at 7 am each morning. I can get up nice and early.

Also, I don't care if it is crappy running. I'm happy enough to just find a safe place.

You are actually quite close to Mueller which is the development on the site of the old airport. It features a great crushed granite running trail. There is 1 red light (which you'll hit 2x every loop), but other than that it is unobstructed for about 3.5 miles.

Here's a map from your hotel to the trial.

I took you down Berkman even though it is farther because there is some sketch on Cameron. Cameron isn't really that bad, but I figured I'd show you a nicer way.

Someone already posted the loop on Map My Run here:

Enjoy the trip to Austin!

Town lake trail or the greenbelt for trail running is best but it's not that easy for your to get there. Other than that, if walnut creek trail is near you can run there. Otherwise Mueller may be best for you. Good luck
