Heather Jackson's ride was almost as fast as Ryf
Quote | Reply
With little fanfare, it appears Heather Jackson rode just 45 seconds slower than Ryf.

It appears she is on a 48cm frame with 700cc wheels.

But, but, but......Cannondales are aero bricks! There’s NO way anyone can have a decent split unless they have a Canyon, Trek, or Cervelo! (Pink)

If the Cannondale was such an aero brick, then how did Heather ride faster than 32 of the 33 female pros at the race?

I see a "(Pink)" at the very end of that post...

Also, are you using a graph to show the aero qualities of a bike where it needs a couple upgrades to equal a p3 and a shiv? Notice the non-upgraded bike is in light green... right up there with the old slice...

The chart shows a 10 watt difference at the angle(s) most commonly seen during riding conditions-via Flo's information. Unknown how much if any difference exists with a rider aboard. The 10 watts of "more" frame drag at 23mph equals what in time per distance(s)? Then again, the rider position (fit) can create significantly more drag than frame differences.

I see -7 watts at 0deg for an "upgraded" new slice and +5 watts at 0deg for "nonupgraded" new slice. I wonder if the p3 and shiv needed the same upgrades

I totally missed the Rudy helmet! She must’ve gotten in through a charity spot or something. (Again....pink).

simply mean this was a very sub par ride for Daniela. That explain Heather time been so close. On a good day, you would expect a much bigger gap. Either way, they are 2 very strong rider.

I think I triggered a Jackson fanboy here...

The thread title compares Jackson and Ryf on the bike.
So it's pretty fucking relevant if Ryf had a bad day.
Anyone who's watched Ryf in previous races would know that her bike was off.

Her bike split was about 40 seconds slower than last year, so her bike wasn’t that far off.

No doubt she had a good bike ride. Props to her.

But imagine how much faster she would have been with a better fit, no bottle on the frame, and a better helmet.

Yeah, why are people ignoring this?

Because Kona is significantly conditions dependent.

She definitely has some significant low-hanging fruit on the bike.
