HEADSET BAYONET 19MM DA
Hey everyone,

6 days before I am to leave for IM Wisconsin my headset bearing for my 2015 Felt DA kick the bucket. None of my LBS's have any, can't find any online, and from London Ontario Felt USA won't be able to get me bearings in time.

So, throwing up a Hail Mary here, anyone have a set or know of a pair? For those suggesting I might use a substitute, I can't (to my knowledge) because they are proprietary to the Bayonet 3-4 fork.

I mean, I "can" use still use these to get me through the race but they are super gritty:/

Cheers all,
Hugh

It's a 6804 bearing, they are not proprietary

19mm ID x 30mm OD x 6.5mm height, 45 X 45 ACB

This is where I got mine

If you drive though SE Michigan on your way I'll give you mine.

Or order them, send them to my place and I'll hand them to you.

Edit: The shop I linked above is local to me. I routinely buy from them and pick items up in person.

jaretj!!! Amazing. I didn't know that. Where in Michigan are you? Any chance I could pay (for the bearings you have, the courier fee, + your time) to have them express couriered to me?

I'm in Westland MI.

Earliest i could get them would be Wednesday.

We're looking at ~$32 USD I can just order them and you pay me in person or Paypal.

If you stiff me you'll open yourself up to ST ridicule and I'll have a spare set of bearings when mine crxp out.

If you are coming over the Ambassador Bridge you'll be going down I94 or I96. I'm 3 miles off of I96 about 20 past Detroit

Could meet at a McDonald's or something

I'm leaving London next Friday at 1AM, and would be crossing the border (hopefully) around 3AM... no one wants to get up that early:) Thank you very very much for the information! I've ordered some bearing and had them shipped to where I am staying in Madison.

Good, Treefortbikes always delivers on time for me.

They are one of the only Brick and Mortar Stores I deal with. They are fantastic Mountain Bike people if you need that sort of thing.

Any bearing press needed for installation? Or is it just drop in?

The adjustment is different than a standard headset though.

The bearings go in normally, 1 top, 1 bottom.

Then there is the pre-load nut, then the stem goes on with 3 bolts.

After that you can adjust the bearing pre-load nut through the stem and secure it with a pinch bolt.

It's more complicated than the weird Felt IA stem with the 4 bolts in back.

Just curious if you got the bearings on time?

No unfortunately. I even paid for the expedited processing, but they didn't ship out until the Wednesday and they got delivered Saturday afternoon after I had checked my bike in. That being said, I made some adjustments to the headset tension and it did its job for the race. Appreciate the help though, now I have what I need to swap in new bearings!

Hello! Hugh,

I have the same issue with my 2014 Felt DA and I cant find any online. I looked up and the headseat bearings are:
Proprietary 19mm ID x 30mm OD x 6.5mm height, 45 X 45 ACB

Any chance the 6804 bearings from Tree Fort Bikes worked for your bike?

thanks,
Frank

Frank,

I haven't yet installed them because I am not yet ready to look at my tri bike after IMWI:)
That being said, except for the colour they are identical to the felt bearings.
So I feel safe recommending the 6804 from Treefort replacement bearings.

Good luck!
Hugh
