Getting back on the wagon.

2014 has been a complete disaster with consistent training, every attempt to get back into consistent, serious training either as triathlete or in just a single sport has resulted in injury or burnout. My mind says "oh that'll be easy", my body lets me do it for a month or so and suddenly I'm done. Cold/flu in January, shin splints in March, complete burnout after a big running week in Tokyo in July, and a lower back injury after a couple big weeks on the bike in August.

So how for those of you who've gone from serious IM training to pretty much nothing and back to something balanced, what's your advice?
