Dura-Ace Front Derailleur Question
I need to order a new DA front derailleur and am running DA 9 speed on my bike. I need a braze-on and the FD-7800 says it is 9spd/10spd compatible, is this right? I found the FD-7700 which I thought was what the 9spd model was but I couldn't find it in braze-on. Will the FD-7800 work well with 9spd or is it just going to be ok? Do I need the FD-7700?

The cage on the shimano 10spd is ~0.6 mm (number from memory, don't quote me on it) more narrow than the 9spd cage. My guess is it will shift ok, but you'll get more rubbing and noise with cross-chain gear combinations when you combine it with the thicker 9spd chain.

I'd stick with the 9spd model to go with the 9spd drivetrain, if you can find it.

10 spd will work fine.

However the 7700 is way cheaper. Looks like Lickbike have the braze-on
