I think they'll let you do a drop-in, but check in advance.
Depending on the length of your run, you could go over to Cheesman or City Park and run the loops, or the better run is at Wash Park. The path along Cherry Creek is nice, but all concrete.
The cycling sucks in the city, so head to Boulder for the rides N&E of town.
