Yup - Rotor is on the shimano/sram spindle diameter.

SRAM and Shimano are not the same spindle diameter.
Rotor is same as Shimano in terms of diameter.

You need a Shimano BB or similar (Rotor, King), it is different than the SRAM BB.

What about going the other way - will a rotor SAAB BB work with SRAM Red cranks?

I don't think so.
Red uses GXP like Bontrager and Truvativ.
Shimano, FSA(some models, the aluminum ones for sure), SAAB, Chris King are all interchangeable.
