I'd assume it was originally a "safety" issue made by some bumbling local gov official that's never rode a bike since age 12. At least now they are reconsidering.

We tend to forget that we cyclists are a minority. It's up to us to not take our hobby for granted and step up and educate the great unwashed masses.

Yeah I saw that too... nice. I can't believe how many people called me last week to sign the petition. I'm really curious how many people added their names overall. You really have to hand it to bicyclecolorado.org for their swift organization on behalf of all cyclists. Nice work!
