There's an X-Sport Fitness on Elston, around Wilson (4600N), I think, but it doesn't have a pool. X-Sport has two gyms with pools: one in Old Town and one out in Niles. Small pools, management not entirely clear on the concept of how to manage a pool for team swimming. But it's water, and reasonably priced.

There's Cheetah Gym in Andersonville, at Clark and Berwyn, but no pool.

Northeastern Illinois University has a nice pool. There's master's swimming at a pool at Univ. of Illinois-Chicago, at Gill Park in Lakeview, and in Evanston, but those are all 30-40 minute drives from NEIU.

Thanks for the reply Lynne. My girlfriend is in Chicago now doing a recon, while I am still in Korea. She's raving about Lifetime fitness in Skokie, apparently has several pools and an incredible facility.
