Another sad story. Best wishes on a successful recovery.

We lost one of our Tri club a month ago. A driver dozed off and ended up hitting her... she was riding in a pretty wide shoulder. I bought several of the brightest flashing lights I could find.

Hi,

I am an avid cyclist (no triathlons yet) that lives in Meridian, next to Boise. This is terrible and hits close to home as I ride near there and on that road sometimes. I try to avoid it due to the driver speeds and lack of road shoulder in a few spots. The road is safe (if there is such a term) in spots but not in others. The car driver was a prison guard or employee and my personal opinion based on prior years and adjacent roads is they drive like jerks, fast and not very polite as far as slowing down or sharing the road. i feel bad and angry about this.
I wish the reporter would go out there with a hidden camera and a radar gun and do some real reporting. i hope they get phone records if it was someone texting and prosecute them. I would guess texting, or just plain rude driving.
Thanks for posting and allowing me to vent.
Everyone be careful and be as safe as possible in enjoying cycling on the roads.
