I wonder if they will discuss tri bike fits?

Yes,
But that will be far from the main focus. I would expect about an hour or so at the most. 98% will be road cycling oriented.

If it's anything like the Serotta TRI fits that I saw while living in Austin I wouldn't get my hopes up. From what I have seen a Serotta TRI fit is the equivalent of a UCI TT fit.... i.e. You aint running after yer done. =) FIST baby. Or.... just get to where your comfy.

Road fitting is much more "mature" as a "science" than tri fit at this point, I would argue. How many road fitters, for example, do you meet that don't ride road bikes? Almost none? Yet, how many fitters who proclaim to be tri-fitters have never completed a triathlon? I wonder.

Hopefully this symposium cements Boulder's reputation as "Bike Fit Capital of the Universe".

Hey Tim:

I can see the logic around your question but this is more about body mechanics and knowledge rather than the ability to complete a Triathlon - my old rugby coach in UK was in a wheelchair and had been all his life - but the best scrum-half coach in the business.

I would guess 90%. And I don't think it is all about biomechanics etc. I think there is a bit of experience that goes into it. The fact is most fitters don't know much about practical implementation.

Classic too much theory not enough knowledge.

Excellent point. The more I think about it, the more examples one can find of someone who helps those without experiencing directly their experiences.

I'm not saying someone who has never completed a triathlon can't be a good tri-fitter, but it can help sometimes.

Cool. I just had Andy Pruitt resolve a foot pain issue by modifying my shoes; then Todd Carver did a bike fit like I've never seen before, with videotape and infrared sensors tracking my alignment. I am not surprised by their excellent reputation and highly recommend them !
