Installing a BB90 bottom bracket on my trek for a SRAM GXP crank and I was wondering do I use the plastic sleeve piece or is it not necessary? Can't find answer in any instructions. Thanks.

which bottom bracket are you using? brand / model and which frame is it?

Recommend that you use it as its a barrier to bearing contamination from the inside of the frame. Just make sure you orient it correctly for gxp...larger diameter section to the nondrive side.

Thanks. We found instructions online and I figured that was a good way to help keep crap out of the bearings. Thanks again.
