I would, but someone's gotta pick up the slack around here on LC. I gotta maximize the amount of pain per mile travelled. A longer race means a bigger thirst.
But, I sense a dark horse contender coming out of the woods on Mohonk........

Hmmmm.. a dark horse?
Well, it can't be Parkito - he's volunteering this year.
He would have cleaned Murphy's clock (as long as it was swim 5, and not run 5, for the non-biking legs)

We're limiting beer to racers and volunteers this year. We've had issues with other park patrons helping themselves to food and beer, and we really only have enough for the racers and volunteers. We don't want long course finishers getting the short end of the stick.
If a spectator wishes to drink beer, they should bring some for themselves, be discreet and take their empties home with them. Or, better yet, help out for a few hours and enjoy our burgers and beer in good conscience as a volunteer.
I wish I could just open the taps for everyone, but its just not feasible.
Anyone wishing to volunteer should PM me.
Slainte!

Three or four leaves? Thats fine for practice but will be tough during race as I gather there will be beer each time I reach the stem, tempting me to forego the next leaf. And am doing the middle distance.....meaning lots of trips to the stem.....

4 leaves, with cross over in the middle.

If you think you see the same set of volunteers at the two water stations.... you aren't hallucinating. It's just one water station that you cross twice :)

and if you get disoriented (as I do every time), they have the amazing ability to keep track of where everyone should go next, on the shamrock. They will give you a point and a push.

I'm going with "2 things that will never happen" for $500 Alex.

You know that they don't have $500 answers in Jeopardy, right?

It is going to really embarrassing when you get "Canadian womaned" at AZ. Worse than being chicked.

There used to be a great map on the old AmZof site. It looked like a photocopied park map that someone had taken a colored marker to. I googled it but nothing turned up in google images. Perhaps tetsouni can get his hands on it.

Sometimes low tech is best.

They could always go faster - they do get a head start on the F-1 and SC racers...

Good thing I only drink properly "proofed" and aged liquor.

3 1/2 days to go - hope everyone is ready - to drink that is.

3 days, and counting...

Weather forecast looks very good for the après action:
Low upper 50's, high upper 70's.
Eliminates all those pesky decisions about maybe needing arm warmers or tights and whatnot.

Do we have a volunteer to bring the Baileys for the ICBs yet?
You're doing the Jameson, Barry, right?

if there's going to be drinking involved, can I defer my entry to a non-alcohol event?

Yes on the Jameson - I'll even hand you a shot as you go out on your 3'rd run. About 4:15 after you start?
