The trophy is in transit as I type this! I hope to follow it myself if I can make it. I am NOT racing as I have a 100 mile tri the day before.

Disk on the rear or an 808? Both are tubulars!

The disc I just sold you last night! Since you just bought it, I'll forgive the spelling error. Today.
AmZof is a dress rehearsal for IMLP right? I told you to ride the TT bike, not your road bike. Now I'm telling you to use your IMLP race set-up as well.

Remember do as I say, not as I do ;)

I have no new pics beyond what is shown in the trophy thread. The Stein cannot be attached until the parts I shipped arrive in NY. So it will only be "done" then.

FWIW: While I never met Chris, I have certainly spent a great deal of time thinking about him and life in general as I built the trophy. The project itself took between 30 and 40 hours and that was a lot of time to contemplate this situation. Besides, Chris's face was looking at me once the engraving was done. I appreciate the kind words. It was my honor and privilege to make this tribute. Thanks Jennyfer and John!

Thanks, Doug! Hope you can make it for the party.
For Chris, I believe the party came 1st; the race was just an excuse to party.
Murphy - I seriously doubt your ability to pick this thing up, you limp-wristed albino wanker.
And, don't leap into my arms this year - I hurt my back recently.
Chicken and egg debate - Am I out of shape due to my bad back, or is my back bad because of the 30 extra pounds on my front?
Sadly, I suspect the latter.

You are probably talking 30s difference one way or the other depending on the wind with those choices, so flip a coin.

I do the ML approach and go wheelcover on a box PT wheel since my other option is a box PT wheel with no cover.

There is a lot of climbing, but there is also a lot of ripping along at a high speed.

Yea, you have really been looking our for me. First you convince me to sign up for AmZof F1, then you back down to the SC. Then, you sell me a disc w/ a flat tire and makes funny noises. I'm thinking a discount might be in order!
If I have a good race (finish), then we'll call it even...

As things look to be drying out, we plan on watering down the bike in / bike out to replicate last year's cyclocross section, which Chris loved.

Chris's wife, Jennyfer, will be bringing Chris's American Flag umbrella, which saved my ass last year when I forgot our flag for the National Anthem.

I'm thinking of piping the Anthem, but I'm afraid of Rosanne Barr comparisions, pertaining not only to pitch, but girth.

My first glance at that was "as thongs look to be drying out"...

Oh yeah, we MUST have the flag umbrella. Good call.
I dug the cx section - bring it.

MY EYES!!!
What has been seen, can never be unseen.

Who'd you get to take that pic of you?
Did the camera spontaneously combust afterwards?

Guess we know now that the piper is not quite naked under his kilt.

Either way.... <shudder>

With all the flames and anonymous digs that happen in online forums,
it's stories of kindness from people like you Doug, and all the people paying loving tribute to Chris, that make the interwebs worthwhile.

So inspiring. I wish I could be at that race this year.

I second that - thanks Doug!
Now, will anyone step up to keep this pristine work of art out of Murphy's grubby limp-wristed mitts?

Obviously .... whoever took that picture didn't live to tell about it. The camera was probably discovered next to a corpse that appeared to have died shortly after clawing its own eyes out.
