Is that an attempt at some self-defecating humor?

So... any updates on the wait list and whether I'll have an opportunity to beat John Hirsch in the LC? If he loses to me he'll have to be my personal servant for a month. How many women are racing the LC (aside from my bf)?

"personal servant for a month".
And that would make that particular month differ from all the others HOW? ;-)

John's having a rough day here on ST - first off, I was mean to him, and then nobody agreed with him about that road bike blather, and now his GF is tooling on him.

Maybe you should have him give you a foot massage later, just to get a little of the tension out?

He won't be massaging my feet until he earns the privilege. He can get I'm line with everyone else.

Though, I do agree with John about the road bike. I like to be friendly and wave hello when I pass people on their tri bikes at am zof. Hopefully that lifts their spirits. It seems to make the silly guys wearing Vibrams on the run smile when I pass them and give them a flirty wave.

Well, of course you're going with a TT bike.
What we need to know is what you'll be wearing?

Shame I'll never see any of that. Sounds like fun.

If you really want to be friendly and raise the tri guys spirits, why not ride a beach cruiser and wear daisy dukes and a halter top?
Why stop at the road bike?

((((hugs))))

Interestingly on a super hilly course I find I am more areo on a road bike because I can tuck and get my head down in my cables. Its way more areo then on a TT bike in the areo bars ( I gain 2-5mph on an 8% descend). At Am Zof I tuck the down hills and don't ride the climbs in the areo bars. So a TT bike isn't a great bargain for the super hilly courses like Am Zof, SM, Tri Star Nevis (interestingly the winner of Nevis and a past ITU World Champ Olivia. Marcue was on a road bike).

In general I do have less drop on the road bike and my frame is less areo on my road bike but again the cost benefit issue. Also I think most people generate more power/watts when on a road set up so unless your going fast enough to make meaningful drag for long periods of time its better to be on a road bike. Am Zof is climbing at 10mph and going down hill tucked and not pedaling at 50 mph. The two part between are pretty short and some are twisty making a road bike better and faster for cornering.

Also, riding a lighter bike with better power output saves ones legs for the run.

I think a lot of people want to ride their TT bikes because they are more comfortable personally on TT bikes or because their TT bikes are better bikes then their road bikes. For athlete on a budget it makes sense to drop all the money into one bike. In those cases I would suggest they ride the TT but if your road is as good of quality as the TT AND you know how to make use of it and descend well, the road bike is better. Beside personally attacks and calling me names ML can't come up with any science that shows how a heavy bike on a course that nearly all up and down is better. Of course maybe he cant get that belly into a tuck so he has to be all un-areo and sit up like a sail in his areo bars. But nearly everyone climbs better on a 72 angle seat tube set up then a 78 because it generates more leverage, power and muscle recruitment.

BTW, the stout has been perking away in my office hard core.
We aimed for 4.5 to 5% alcohol, but those billions of yeast cells seem to be chowing down on the sugars big time if the discharged CO2 is any evidence.
So, rain in the forecast - I guess we'll see who on the entry list are fair weather friends.

Somebody mentioned aid stations earlier in this thread. Are there any on course stations? I didn't notice a reference to any on the web site.

Snip babbling pseudo-science *sounding* reply.

Re-read what you posted: I find, I think...
N=1 does not equal data. Sorry.

You are wrong.
Worse, you are embarrassing yourself in front of those who *know* you are wrong. It'd be less sad, if you didn't purport to be some sort of "professional". You don't even know enough to be ashamed of posting this drivel.

Run GPS for the race, (kdw has offered to let you carry his Android phone, in case you can't afford a GPS yourself) and we can compare and contrast who did what where on Strava right after the race.

Put up, or shut up.
