And that's why they introduced the K8 Disk - http://www.pinarello.com/...road/dogma-k8-s-disk on their last high end bike. I think it's a complete BS tactic to ensure a buy now mentality and not wait for the anticipated and now confirmed F10 Disk.

Pinarello already make several disc brake bikes, including the Dogma F8. But I'm sure dentists everywhere are rejoicing at this news.

Do you know how old the dentist jokes are getting? It shows insecurity and jealousy......about a bike.

In what way? Who else buys these sort of bikes? Neither the pragmatist nor the connoisseur, so that leaves the fool... :P

Not really. Everyone assigns value to something differently. I think owning a Mercedes or other expensive cars is a waste of money....but I have no problem wanting a P5-X.

So if someone buys a $16,000 car and a P5-X or Pinarello.....are they just as foolish as someone who spends $50,000 on a car?

The sad thing is that Pinarello is no longer an outlier in terms of its pricing. Their builds are no more expensive than almost every other vanilla brand out there. If I was going to spend $12,000 on a bike I'll never race, the F10 would be on my list, and I feel zero jealousy towards anyone based on the bike he or she rides.

That doesn't mean, however, that I think the trend towards ridiculously overpricing, rather than practical simplification, in cycling and triathlon is something to be celebrated.

The reason I ask is it's funny to see how mad people get about bike prices but they have no problem paying $600 a month to a bank for a car. People's valuations of items is interesting to me.

I know women that have purses that cost $12,000. So, when you think about it like that, the F10 is a bargain.

Crazy talk. Who pays more for a car than a bike? I mean maybe for a city beater, but not for anything half decent.

Maybe if you didn't you could have that abortion of a rig you so lust for.

Bikes > cars

PXG clubs are $5k, Pappy Van Winkle is $2k, an LS3 crate motor is $7k, Black Lotus magic card is $4k

Whatever the hobby, reasonable is a word that generally doesn't belong.

Bikes > cars

Aren't you in the UK where cars are like 1/3 the size of American cars?

I can fit 4 bikes in my Roomster and still get close to 60mpg. What up now?
