2007 kestrel talon seat angle
Dear all, what's the Talon 2007 version seat angle? Does the bike has a dual use seat post/adjustment. If so, wich angles do they correspond?
The Kestrel website says it is 75.25 for the smallest size (wich I am looking for) but I remember (do not know where) to read that the bike was like Cervelo's that has both, steep and shallow options.
Would to like to hear you, thanks and regards, Marcos.

You can get steeper with Kestrel's dual position seatpost (now available in carbon). How steep depends on the saddle. I would imagine if you slid the seat all the way forward on the rails and had the seat in the forward position that you would get a couple of degrees.

I find the head tube on my Talon to be to tall to justify anything steeper than around 75-76 degrees. Handling is OK at 76 degrees. Steeper than that and handling gets a bit too unstable. However, I am riding a 55. A smaller size may be different. It is a great road bike though. Very stiff and handles well.

Considering an "average" saddle and the rider seated in the middle of it, wich angles do we have?
Kestrel website advises 75,25 but considering the post on the forward or rearward position (if we can compare to Cervelo's seat post options)?
I got your response but would like to see if someonelse here has the data I am looking for.
Thanks, Marcos.

Just take the dimensions off of the web site and do some trigonometry. Figure that the forward seat post position will give you an inch or so and you can get maybe another inch by sliding the seat all the way forward on the rails. Just calculate the seat angle if you move it forward by two inches or so. I'm too lazy to go to the site and then do the math. It's not hard though.

Hi Marcos,

In the forward position the seat angle is effectively 2 degrees steeper.

So, for the Talon 48cm bike size the angle will correspond to 77.25 if the seatpost is in the forward position. The road position is 75.25 degrees.

Thank you all, Marcos.
