Honestly, those things look like they would get accidentally snapped off pretty quickly. And that's setting aside that they look terrible.
I can't see them working on a CX bike as the first collision with anything and it looks like they would just break off. And even on a strict road bike I can see a shoe missing a pedal one time and snapping it off.
