..just in case some of you have lingering doubts about the effectiveness of the 'run every day' plan :)

An amazing story from yesterdays Marathon at the Ottawa Race Weekend!

22 year-old with severe autism runs his first ever marathon in 2:39!!!!

That is awesome. I know that finding a passion for autistic individuals can be an arduous task. It is fantastic that Tommy found something that keeps him healthy, active, and social. Plus, what an incredible runner!

His ability to focus on his goal and training is probably something to behold and serves as an example. Id bet thatg if he had all the normal sovpcial disractions he justba sub 3hr runner.... but with his "advantage" he shows how fast you can be with hard work and consistency.

Kudos to him and whoever is coaching him to develope his talent and keep him injury free and manage hisntrainijng plan.

Great story, thanks for sharing.

Tommy is an absolutely fantastic athlete. I had the oppertunity to meet him after the Cdn Army run last fall and again after the marathon yesterday.

That is extremely impressive!!! He ran 2:39:24 which is about 6:05/mi for the 26.22 miles. The article mentioned that his Dad received permission from the marathon organizers to ride his bike along side Tommy to guide him and be sure he did not get overwhelmed by the crowds. Dad prob had to ride cause he couldn't keep up otherwise. I know I could not keep that pace:)
