"GRIPSPORT" non-replaceable rear derailleur hanger
Quote | Reply
I have a frame that has a non-replaceable rear derailleur hanger that is glued on. It bent inwards twice already, not from accidents but just everyday shifting & the biggest culprit is the strain that is put on it, while doing hill climbs.
I know at some point perhaps the 3rd or 4th time if and when the the hanger is realign again it will come an done & not to mention could come undone while in motion, resulting into an accident.

Base on the image you see, the hanger has a very thin layer that is attached to the drops & if the hanger was taken off the frame, you would still have a big amount of rear drop that you could convert the bike into a fix gear. With that being said I have looked online to see if the rear drops can be converted to a replaceable hanger & basically came to the conclusion that once damage there is no fixing it. Please do not mention Calfee, they told me a story about a Scott frame that has this same issue and the only fix they can do since the hanger is glue on that to contact the manufacturer and get the part and will gladly glue it back on for $300. That is the best that they can do and do not have the means to drill / sand rear drops to become a replaceable hanger.

While on line, I came across this company called GRIPSPORT that is located in Australia:

http://gripsport.com.au/...eur-hangers-dropouts

they apparently could convert a non-replaceable into a replaceable hanger.

3 questions for you guys:

1. Has anybody have used there service and if you did can you please share you're experience
2. If these guys can do it, is there such a company located in the US that can provide the same service, so that i do not have to ship the frame half way around the world
3. Open to suggestions & 2 cents

Thanks in advance!

Problem Solvers Universal Derailleur Hanger?

You'll probably 'lose' your biggest rear sprocket as it mounts the RD slightly outboard. But a cheaper solution.
