Hey all, when swimming without a wetsuit do you wear your HR monitor strap? I am doing the Vineman this weekend and assuming it will be sans wetsuit. This will be my first race without a wetsuit and I have always worn my HR strap during the swim. Any disadvantages to wearing it? Thanks, c

No pacing, just racing.
If I'm wearing a top then I will. If not then I slide it down to my waist under my shorts.

are you going to stop and check your heart rate during the swim? prob not. is someone going to smack you in the back and potentially rip it off (accidentally of course) which will make you stop and panic if you are used to wearing it? probably. seems like it should take 5 seconds during T1 to put it on if you organize your T1 bag. also, your breathing will let you know how hard your heart is working anyway. have fun and good luck in the race.
