I just got a tube of this and have been using it on my rides with bike shorts - seems to work well. I have always used body glide before for races, but wondering if chamois butt'r would work better.

Chamois Buttr' and Assos Chamois cremes will help but I think you will find that when the heat is on, they do not do a very good job for longer duration events. I find that Crotch Guard (marketed by DermaTech), while being a little greasier, when applied to both chamois and backside lasts quite a bit longer than similar products.
