Re-reading their Tour Preview edition (printed well before the Tour's start), I ran across this final sentence in their article on Landis:

"That's how Floyd Landis is, he's unconventional, he does unconventional things, he wins his races in unconventional ways, and in this year's Tour de France, which is looking increasingly wide open, unconventional could just be the way to win it. The attack no one expects, maybe something seemingly suicidal, might win and it could be Landis who does it."
