I fully understand- I have a hard time just doing my calf stretches and ankle PT- Not enough time in the day, but you gotta keep chugging along.

"Not saying this is a good thing, but I don't believe that flexibility is ESSENTIAL to swim fast..."

Flexibility where? Sit and reach I can see as a non essential but not being able to clasp your hands over your head and tuck your elbows is essential, no?

I can't do that, but as an older triathlete I'm a pretty good swimmer (had the fastest swim split in my AG in an Oly on Sunday). Not much call for streamlining like that in a triathlon, is there? I think we can all get a pretty good line from one arm extended overhead down to the feet, which is what you want. I look like a garbage scow pushing off the walls (some would say I look like that all the time, but I digress) in the pool.
