D'Kid and her friends were discussing NYC Marathon, IRT "you have to PAY to run? how much?" When I told them "More than your average concert ticket" they recoiled in horror

Of course, I list them know that - I they were interested in such nonsense - they are plenty of fine 26.2 mile runs available in our area, and there is ALWAYS the option of creating their own, using the Screaming Tortise Athletic Club model

Heaven forbid that I share with them that the "entry fee" to The Barkleys is $1.70 and an essay to get in, and a license plate upon check-in (if selected ... "We're sorry to inform you; you're IN")

I offered a Beer Mile as an alternative

Lazarus Lake inducted into American UltraRunning HOF

https://ultrarunninghistory.com/...-fame/gary-cantrell/

In HOF terms, he's be analogous to Clive Davis, Ahmet Etregun, George Martin or Miles Copeland* in the RnR HOF, as a creator of legendary content, though not the actual performer

* NOT in RnR HOF, which is another fucking disgrace by them
