FYI...for anyone looking to train up in LP...
A warning for those of you who may be heading to LP for some training in the next couple of weeks. Rte 86 will be closed due to construction until May 7, so you won't be able to do the bike loop during that time.
Following is an article from the local LP newspaper:
The Wilmington Notch portion of state Route 86 will be closed for three weeks starting Monday, April 17, so that the containment wall between the road and the river can be replaced. The only way to get to Lake Placid from Wilmington, Upper Jay, Jay and points north between April 17 and May 7 will be to go through Keene onto the Cascade Lakes road (state Route 73). Traffic through the Notch may be restricted to a single lane, with traffic lights at either ened, for a few more weeks after May 7, while the containment wall project is completed.
